Recognition to Blogs

Aha! It gives immense satisfaction as a blogger. United We Blog!, the pioneer blog site of the country, was named the Site of The Year 2005 by NepalVista.com. As a co-founder of UWB! its a plesure to see the site getting an award and more importantly – blogs are getting recognized. See the UWB! entry about it and the NepalVista page.

Also interesting was the NepalVista’s prediction for Year 2006. The first of it reads:

More Blog websites from journalists, doctors and just about everybody

And, bloggers of Nepal are trying to unite under an umbrella of an association. Its just in beginning, but hopefully will take shape soon.

The second one is just about how hard its to write a blog.

Pradeep Chand interviewed Sachin Sagar Rai, the man behind Nepalisathi.com, a social networking website. Gauri Joshi writes about a Nepali publication in Texas called Eklo Tara (the lone star – okay look like I should associate with them for the sake of name).

Among Nepali blogs, I find the article of Dinesh Jung Shah on Mero Domukha interesting. Its about foreign players in Nepali football. Here is a sad one stating that Nepali dying in Qatar has increased in 2005. In 2005, 118 Nepalis died there which was 104 in 2004.
