I’m Turning A Great Googler!

Everybody knows Google! everybody uses Google! About a year ago, I read an article about Microsoft’s plan to turn users into Microsoft-only-users, now without any annoucement of that kind, Google is turning me into a google-only-user (a googler)!

The internet is amazing!

Then google is more amazing!

I remeber the early days of internet using around 1998 when I used to write down the name of the sites I needed to visit on a paper and put it in my wallet. Some days after I would discover Google, a search engine, and I would throw away the papers. Google produced results more faster than reading it from a paper of my wallet. It was simply amazing.

Then in a few days, I forgot that MSN is also a seach engine, I forgot altavista (do it still exist?) and even Yahoo!. I read news about some other search engines challeging it (like Alltheweb.com and a9.com). They too were faster but I am still pretty happy with google.

Google introduced the picture search and I started using it. Then news: how could a journalist miss it? The translate tools, I use it whenever the site I visited display language I don’t understand. There are many other features – which I have yet to use.

Then they made food of Hotmail and Yahoo! on an April Fool day annoucing the 1GB email. I started frantically searching for an account. I and Dinesh filled the form at gmail and he got one – I got invitation from him. Gmail still doesn’t run on my home computer but I proudly use it in my visiting card. I have even downloaded the Gmail Notifier. The space (compared to Yahoo’s 100mb and hotmail’s 2mb) is simply unbelievable and the seach feature is once again Amazing. Who cares the robots reading my private letters.

Now they have come up with another splendid piece of software – the google desktop search. Its more amazing. After using it once, you will forget that there is a find menu at start button. So fast and so amazing. Once anyone uses it, he will always remember it.

I am turning googler: my homepage set to news.google.com, the google bar, my system tray showing me the icon of google notifier, my visiting card proudly displaying the gmail address, and now the google desktop search. And the best of all: everything is FREE (i don’t mind the google duo getting rich without I paying them direct money).

So what would be next surprise from google? I would like a free personal homepage space like that of tripod and a community tool like in MSN and Yahoo!.

It seems like I would be asking the latest annoucement of google as my last words before I die.
