It’s hot! Hot!! HOT!!!

Not actually. But, everyday, the Kathmandu Valley is experiencing a new tempature record. It was highest in the year a few days ago, highest in five years two days ago and now highest in 11 years yesterday. And weather forecasters still believe that it’s rising until the Monsoon – around a fortnight later. Would the all time highest record of 36.6 degree celcius will be broken this year? I don’t know but certainly the rise in temperature is causing loads of problem.

People in Terai districts which are the hottest part of country are suffering the most. There have already been a few deaths and the concerend department has cautioned the people to avoid heat-stroke.

Wednesday’s 35C was the hottest since 1994, May 2 when the temperature reached 35.3C. I was 16 years old then, but I don’t remember that day. Now, it looks like I am never going to forget this year. It’s pretty hot – had to sit infront of fan all the time in home since I quickly feel heat and find it difficult to resist.

It was six or seven years ago, I went to Chitwan to attend a head-shaving ceremony of my friend Bikram. It was too hot (we called ‘heating us from inside’) that even one minute after taking bath we had sweats coming. I had a plan to stay there overnight but returned despite people protesting in the evening bus.

Now I am feeling the same heat. I need to bath twice a day (could have been more if I could bath at office). Have been trying to avoid going out as much as possible and being very lazy. I wonder what will happen in coming two weeks.
